Soul Groups

You did not arrive here alone. The people who matter most to you — who challenge you most, who love you most, who shaped you most — may have agreed to this, in a conversation you don’t consciously remember, before you were born into these particular bodies. You chose each other. You are still choosing each other. Every difficult relationship, every inexplicable bond, every person who felt like home from the first moment — they may all be part of the same ancient circle.

What Are Soul Groups?

Soul groups (also called soul clusters or soul families) are one of the most consistent findings in Michael Newton’s clinical research. Across thousands of LBL sessions, clients described belonging to organized clusters of souls who incarnate together repeatedly, taking on different relational roles — parent, child, spouse, friend, adversary — to facilitate mutual growth.

Group Structure

Newton identified a hierarchical clustering:

  • Primary group: 3–25 souls who are most intimately connected and incarnate most frequently together
  • Secondary cluster: A larger surrounding group of 1,000+ souls operating in the same soul community

Between Lives

In the spirit world, soul groups share a “home base” — an energetic location where they rest, study, and reconnect between incarnations. Members report joyful reunions and collaborative review of completed lives.

Critical Perspectives

Cryptomnesia hypothesis: Critics suggest that apparent past-life memories may be forgotten experiences from this life resurfacing in distorted form. Counter-evidence: Stevenson's verified cases were documented before investigation, ruling out post-hoc confabulation in the strongest cases.

Suggestion under hypnosis: Hypnotic subjects are susceptible to suggestion from therapists. Counter-evidence: Newton used open-ended, non-leading questions; subjects from different countries and belief systems described the same architecture independently.

Neurological explanation: The experiences may reflect complex brain states rather than actual non-physical reality. Counter-evidence: Van Lommel's 2001 Lancet study documented verified NDE perceptions during confirmed cardiac arrest with flat EEG.
